CANYONVILLE, Ore. (AP) — Police used spike strips to stop a Glendale woman who drove about 20 miles the wrong way on Interstate 5 between Glendale and Canyonville after an accident near the Douglas-Josephine county line.

State Police got the report of the northbound vehicle early Saturday morning.

The driver, identified as 35-year-old Karena Grim, continued for about two miles after hitting the spike strips then fled into nearby brush and hid.

A passenger, 55-year-old Glenn Fulp of Wolf Creek, was found injured beside her abandoned car.

Both Grim and Fulp were taken a Roseburg hospital for treatment. She was later released and was lodged in the Douglas County Jail on charges of drunken driving, reckless driving, reckless endangerment and assault.
