CANBY, Ore. (AP) — Oregon State Police said a Junction City man has been hospitalized in critical condition after the car in which he was a passenger collided with a semi on Interstate 5 between Salem and Portland early Sunday.

Sgt. Daniel Swift says 65-year-Daniel Campbell was hurt when the car flipped on its top after striking the concrete barrier in the center of the freeway about 2:40 a.m.

The driver, 32-year-old William Brown of Junction City, had minor injuries.

The truck driver, 41-year-old Martin Landeros of Salinas, Calif., was not hurt. Police cited him at the scene for making an unsafe lane change.

Swift says a trooper witnessed Sunday's accident while working speed enforcement.
