SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- As firefighters arrived on the scene of a house fire Monday, they saw flames coming from the first and second floors -- and heard neighbors scream that their was an elderly woman inside.

Firefighters quickly knocked down the flames and searched the house. Nobody was home.

The fire broke out around noon Monday in a home on J Street. The flames gutted the house.

No word yet on what caused the fire.
