EUGENE, Ore. -- Mariah Carey praised her. Simon Cowell did what he does. And the country crooner from Selma, Ore., made it all the way to the top 7 in the 2008 edition of 'American Idol.'

Kristy Lee Cook, whose album "Why Wait" peaked at number 8 on the Billboard Top Country Albums, appears Tuesday, July 14, on KVAL News at noon with host Shelley Kurtz.
