Fire burning out of control, Hwy 138 closed
GLIDE, Ore. -- A wildfire has closed Highway 138 between Roseburg and Diamond Lake about 19 miles east of Glide.
The road will remain closed through at least Thursday morning.
The fire had already burned an estimated 1,630 acres by late Wednesday afternoon and was burning out of control with 0 percent contained, according to fire officials.
"We are experiencing some active fire behavior," said Pam Sichting, an information officer working on the fire.

Steep terrain, a lot of fallen trees and record-breaking temperatures are all making fighting the fire difficult, Sichting said.
The fire is burning on U.S. Forest Service land in the Bogus Creek area near Steamboat.
The call came in around 1:20 p.m. Tuesday from a fire lookout.

At least 225 fire fighters are now on the scene, including crews in two helicopters and two retardant-dropping air tankers.
The aircraft were grounded on Wednesday afternoon by the thick smoke.

The fire has burned to the top of the ridge in the Bogus Creek area and is also moving toward the highway, fire officials told KVAL News.
The Williams Creek and Bogus Creek campgrounds are both closed because of the fire.
