Covered Wagon drives through Lane County

LORANE, Ore.--Drivers on Territorial Highway, you're forgiven if you thought you stepped back in time.  That would be one explanation for why a covered wagon, led by two Belgian mules, was making its way down the road.

There were no time warps or science involved.  That was just historical reenactor Tom Marquette, leading a covered wagon trek from Yoncalla to Independence.  The trek is his way of marking Oregon's 150th birthday.

"I thought we should honor the pioneers who came out here because I'm a seventh generation Oregonian myself," said Marquette.
