Swine flu clinic frenzy

EUGENE, Ore - More than 200 people waited in line when the last H1N1 vaccine was given out at Willamette High, but only 125 people walked away vaccinated.

The limited number of vaccines prompted people to show up hours before the clinic opened. People wanting to get vaccinated waited in a line that wrapped around the building.

Only those in the high risk category were vaccinated. That included children, pregnant women, people with serious chronic medical conditions, health care providers and caregivers of infants.

Those approved to get the vaccine were given tickets before entering the school’s auditorium.

The next swine flu clinic for the Bethel area will be Friday November 6th from 9-11am at Fairfield Elementary.
