EUGENE, Ore - University of Oregon students say the word around town is to wear black as the Ducks take on USC on Saturday. They say this will ‘blackout’ the stadium and hopefully intimidate the Trojans.

Black t-shirts are flying off the shelves at the university’s bookstore.

But the athletic department is encouraging fans to wear yellow to show up better during the night game.

And if you’re feeling festive and in the Halloween spirit, the University of Oregon will allow costumes into the game. Below are a few guidelines the university has issued:

  • Be thoughtful and safe in choosing to wear clothing that might impact those around you. Please show your Duck spirit but refrain from wearing items that would be considered offensive and/or obscene.
  • You must be able to fit safely and easily through the entry gates to bring costumes into the stands. Items that could be viewed as weapons or resembling weapons will not be permitted into the game. ou will not be able to leave these items at the gate to retrieve them later.
  • If you see a disrespectful fan, please text the ConDUCKt hotline at 541-222-9121. Fans behaving inappropriately may be removed from the stadium, lose future ticket privileges, be given a municipal citation, and/or face student conduct charges.
