JUNCTION CITY, Ore. -- She was a straight 'A' student with dreams. of competing on the Oregon State University gymnastics team.

Now Martha Sielski's niece does not want to go to school, and she does not want to be identified.

"I like doing the work and learning but it's kind of hard when you are scared to go to school," said Sielski's niece.

Earlier this year KVAL News talked to several parents who said their kids were bullied at Oaklea Middle School in Junction City. Now Sielski's family has come forward and said school officials are not protecting their child.

They aren't returning phone calls from the media, either.

"She threatened to have someone beat me up"

The seventh grader said someone started picking on her.

"She threatened to have someone beat me up," said the girl. "And this person, I've seen the person beat someone up before."

It's something her aunt can't bear to hear.

"It makes me cry because she went from an 'A' student to a 'D' and 'F' student," said Sielski.

When the student went to the school counselor, the girl said the bullying continued. That's when her family stepped in. Sielski said she called the principal and the superintendent, but nothing changed.

KVAL News also called the school district twice and e-mailed them. They did not return the call or the e-mail.

If the bullying doesn't stop, Sielski said her niece's chances at a good education will only continue to tumble downhill.
