SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - A permanent tribute to the brave men and women of the military was dedicated in Springfield, Ore., on Tuesday.
Members of the Oregon Army National Guard and Musgrove Cemeteries dedicated a monument at the 162nd Infantry Regiment Readiness Center.
The monument honors veterans -- both past and present -- and those serving overseas.

After the ceremony, 2nd Officer Cory Jones said he's thinking of his grandpa, a WWII veteran; fellow officers fighting abroad; and those who gave their all.
"All the individuals and the soldiers who actually passed away in the past seven, eight years with operation Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom, my heart is with them today," said Jones.
On Wednesday, Musgrove Cemeteries will host open houses displaying military equipment from the Oregon National Guard in honor of Veterans Day.
