Civil War security: 7 fans ejected before kickoff
EUGENE, Ore. -- Not all Ducks and Beavers fans were on their best behavior at the Civil War game Thursday night.
Before the teams even took the field, 7 fans had been ejected from the game. University of Oregon Public Safety Captain Herb Horner said a woman was transported to the hospital by ambulance prior to kickoff because of alcohol poisoning. Horner said, "It's not surprising with a game that has so much riding on it."
During last year's Civil War game at Reser stadium, more than 80 fans were ejected for breaking the rules. Offenses included trespassing, urinating in public, having a fake ticket and public intoxication.
The last home game at Autzen stadium saw 112 fans kicked out. Officers expect ejection numbers from the Civil War game to be released on Monday.
