Eugene- The real estate industry has gone to the dogs, and cats, and mice and even snakes.

There's a new website called Pet Realty Network where agents can post pet-friendly listings with just a click of a button.

Michelle Gremon is the first local realtor to post on the site. As a dog owner herself, she says she understands how tough it is to find a landlord who welcomes animals. Some rentals accept cats and a few take dogs. But even then, many have strict weight limits.

"I think it's possible to solve these kinds of problems if you look hard enough but it helps to have people who know things and resources to tap into," Gremon said.

The site allows searchers to look for properties based on the type of pet. You can click on anything from dogs, cats, horses, and even farm animals.

And it helps animal humane societies too.

Volunteers at Greenhill say, the most common reason animals are left behind is because their owners couldn't find suitable housing for them.

They hope Pet Realty Network" will cut down the number of neglected animals. "When I found out that we had--there was actually an organization like that--it was kind of exciting," Kim Cracolice with Greenhill said.

Greenhill also gets a donation every time a lane county real estate agent registers on Pet Realty Network.
