Attorney: Former coach to plead not guilty to sex abuse
ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Former Cottage Grove teacher and North Douglas High School coach Shane Mast was arraigned Monday in a Douglas County Circuit Courtroom on charges of sex abuse and contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor.
The 31-year-old Mast appeared in front of Judge Ronald Poole late Monday afternoon and was arraigned on five counts of third degree sex abuse, five counts of contributing to the sexual delinquincy of a minor and furnishing liquor to a minor.
His attorney David Terry said Mast did not enter a plea but is expected to enter a not guilty plea at the next hearing on March 8.
