CORVALLIS, Ore. -- A day after a 2 1/2-year-old boy died when his stroller was hit by a semi truck, police continued to put together information to send to the Benton County district attorney.
Dylan Ayer was pronounced dead at the scene Monday morning at the intersection of Highways 34 and 99E a few miles east of Corvallis. The initial investigation indicated Dylan's mother was jogging and pushing Dylan in a stroller when she arrived at the corner. At the same time, a semi truck made a turn at the corner and hit the stroller.
State police in Albany said the collision reconstruction was completed Monday. The team looked at the truck involved and are now analyzing data gathered from the scene.
The district attorney will review the findings to see if the incident warrants any criminal charges, although a state police trooper told KVAL News it doesn't look like there will be any criminal charges at this point.
Anyone with information to assist in this investigation is asked to contact OSP Recruit Trooper Phil Van Leuven at (541) 967-2026 ext. 4310.
