Woman accused of trying to take baby makes plea deal
Hanley Louise Vidal-Hernandez, 25, of Albany, Ore.

ALBANY, Ore. (AP) — An Albany woman who was investigated for trying to take a baby from a hospital has pleaded no contest to initiating a false report and second-degree custodial interference.

Linn County Senior Deputy Attorney Deann Novotny says 25-year-old Trinity Hanley Louise Hernandez entered the plea Monday in Circuit Court.

Novotny says that as part of a plea negotiation, remaining charges of attempted kidnapping, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief are to be dropped when Hernandez is sentenced next Tuesday.

Hernandez was arrested in October after employees at Samaritan Albany General Hospital called police to say she was acting strangely.

At the time, she told the Albany Democrat-Herald she was innocent and it was all a misunderstanding.
