NORTHWEST EUGENE - With the the rain gone, today was a perfect day for some good old fashioned baseball. That's just brought hundreds of people into Eugene, kicking off the statewide Midget Junior Baseball Tournament.

This four-day tournament is being hosted by Kidsports. Kids get to put their little league skills to work on a big field. Darren Gibbs, one of the Junior Baseball Commisioners explains, "These are nine and ten year olds and they are from all over the place. They've even stretched up to Washington a bit."

Twelve teams are facing off in this double-elimination tournament. The Midget Baseball League has been around since the mid-60's.
