Motorcyclist killed in crash
COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. -- A member of a motorcycle group crashed and died Saturday afternoon on Shoestring Road.
The victim was riding his 2006 KTM motorcycle with a small group of riders when he became separated from the group, according to the sheriff's office.
The group turned around and discovered the deceased had crashed over an embankment.
South Lane Fire responded to the scene and pronounced the rider deceased at 1336 hours.
The deceased was wearing appropriate protective clothing and helmet at the time of the crash, the sheriff's office said.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
