UO releases terms of Nike deal

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The University of Oregon has released to The Oregonian newspaper an uncensored copy of its eight-year, $22.7-million contract extension with Nike.

The university had argued that financial figures of its endorsement and outfitting deal were trade secrets and thus exempt from disclosure under Oregon's open-records law. But a recent ruling from Attorney General John Kroger said the contract details should be made available.

Despite the legal dispute, The Oregonian newspaper reports the contract appears to be standard for a school of Oregon's size and athletic stature.
