Eugene - A Lane County jury has determined the verdict for a former Churchill High School teacher accused of sexual abuse.

After a day of deliberating, the jury finally found Curtis Neal Buell guilty on 15 counts of sexual abuse this afternoon.

The 26 year old used to teach chemistry at the high school. He was accused of sexually abusing two 17 year old female students.

Today, the jury found him guilty of 11 counts of sex abuse in the third degree and four counts of sex abuse in the second degree.

"It certainly wasn't quick and fast. They started yesterday afternoon and they were obviously very thorough because they just returned the verdict this afternoon," Lane County Chief Deputy Alex Gardner said.

The judge has ordered a pre-sentence investigation, where a parole and probation officer will conduct more interviews, review the facts and submit an analysis of the case.

At this point, it's hard to determine how much time Buell will serve. That information will be determined when he is sentenced on October 17th.
