Divorced parents describe missing boy Kyron Horman

PORTLAND, Ore. - The biological parents of Kyron Horman, the 7-year-old who went missing June 4 from his school in the outskirts of Portland, spoke on camera Friday morning.

Desiree Young, Kyron's biological mother, and Kaine Horman, his biological father, talked with reporters early Friday morning about their son. Young and Horman have long been divorced and Young lives in southern Oregon.

The two did not discuss the investigation surrounding Kyron's still unexplained disappearance June 4 from Skyline Elementary School on the outskirts of Portland, they did talk about him as a child.

They described him an a playful, intelligent boy with a wide variety of interests.

Young broke down and expressed deep regret for not being close to her son in his time of need. Horman discussed the flurry of activities following the disappearance.

Kyron's step parents were not interviewed. The search for the 7-year-old boy is entering its third week.
