Limo service goes after younger clientele
EUGENE, Ore --- Michael and Sheryl Gregory have been in the limo business as Sunshine Limo Service since the year 2000.
They said their business usually increased by 20 percent every year - until the recent downturn in the economy.
Since the economy took a turn for the worse, business for their business has been steady but not increasing.
Now the company is reaching out to kids to help keep the business afloat.
“If you've got 14 kids in the car, only one is the birthday kid," Michael Gregory said. "I can almost assure you that we'll get a couple more birthday parties out of the group."
Gregory said the company began marketing limo parties to kids to increase its clientele. They now average five to six kid parties a week.
“The kids all have a good time, and then they go home and tell their mom this is what I want to do for my birthday. So that’s actually kind of a win, win situation for us,” said Gregory.
To keep a group of kids busy while they ride around town, the limo stops at different places and the kids participate in a scavenger hunt.
“With kid parties they just love getting in and out of the limousine and having people see them,” said Sheryl Gregory.
The Gregorys said whether they’re picking kids up for a birthday party or from school, parents can rest assure that they are in good hands.
“It’s a lot of fun and it’s different. And kind of easy for the parents once they call us pretty much their job is taken care of,” said
