EUGENE, Ore. -- "Spider Man" made a two hour rescue effort in south Eugene Tuesday morning to retrieve a cat that was stranded thirty feet from the ground in a tree for two days.
Emily Wille said that she found her cat, named Little Bit, nestled up in an oak tree after it escaped their home.
"This cat is like a family member to me. Little Bit has been with us for a long, long time. She was a rescue." Wille said.
Little Bit was stuck in the tree for over 48 hours without food, water and shelter from the sun. That's when "Spider Man", a self proclaimed cat rescue specialist, arrived on scene to perform a daring feline rescue.
After it looked like Little Bit wouldn't make the climb back down on her own free will, "Spider Man" climbed up the oak with the approval of the Eugene Police Department. He used a chainsaw to cut down the branch that Little Bit was perched on.
She fell almost 30 feet to the ground, landing on all fours. Wille said that after waiting for the commotion to die down, Little Bit finally made her way home.
