Child hurt when empty pickup rolls into school bus

GASTON, Ore. – One child was hurt when an empty pickup truck rolled down a street and collided with a school bus carrying 15 children in Gaston Monday morning.
It happened on Highway 47 near Park Street at around 8:40 a.m.
One child was taken to a hospital by their parents, according to Gaston Rural Fire District spokesman Ken Bilderback.
The child’s injuries were not life-threatening.
No one else was seriously hurt.
The other 14 kids on the bus, who ranged in age from 6 to 17, were transferred onto another school bus and taken to school.
It’s unclear what caused the truck to begin rolling.
The highway was closed for about an hour after the crash.
