Pedestrian hit by pickup truck
EUGENE, Ore. -- A 53-year-old Eugene woman is in critical condition after she was hit by a pickup truck Friday morning, Eugene Police said.
Officials said that at around 8 a.m. Friday Lisa Marie Leiblen, 53 of Eugene, walked into a crosswalk at 8th and Willamette when she was hit by a pickup making a turn onto 8th Street.
The driver of the pickup, Jeffrey John Firth, 39 of Walterville, was cited for the crash.
Leiblen was taken to RiverBend Medical Center with serious injuries where she remains in the intensive care unit.
she was in serious condition. The icu is at riverbend, also they could get more money at riverbend as it costs more money to be in that place
I hope she recovers quickly, but I wonder....if she was hurt at 8th and Willamette, why did they take her all the way to riverbend? Why not the university hospital, which is much closer? What's the point of the university site if it's no good?
