European tourist on bike hit by car on Hwy 101

COOS-CURRY COUNTY LINE, Ore.-- A man visiting Oregon from the Netherlands was hit by an SUV Wednesday morning as he was biking down Highway 101 along the South Coast.
According to Oregon State Police, Marcellus Tijdink, 52, was taken to Bay City Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The woman driving the SUV has not been charged with anything yet, and the accident is still under investigation.
The driver's husband, William Peck, was, however, arrested after he showed up to the accident scene to check on his wife. Officers at the scene arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence.
