Man arrested after eluding police for two days

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A Camas Valley man is in jail after eluding police for two days following a domestic disturbance.

At around 3:00 p.m. on Monday, deputies were called to a residence on Upper Camas Road for a report of a domestic disturbance.

The deputy that arrived discovered that Eric Banks, 31, had fled the scene on an ATV. The deputy spotted the man and attempted to pull him over.

Police say Banks sped away, passing vehicles and a school bus in a reckless manner.

Police terminated the pursuit after losing sight of the man on a BLM road.

Police went to the residence and learned that a 24-year-old female suffered minor injuries in the disturbance.

The Sheriff's office says that on Wednesday, Banks came in to the courthouse to pick up a copy of a restraining order, and was taken into custody at that point.

He was lodged in the Douglas County Jail on charges of eluding police, reckless driving and domestic assault among other charges.

His bail is set at $77,500.
