New tanks at Oakshire makes for more beer and more jobs

EUGENE, Ore. -- Oakshire installed two brand new 80-barrel metal tanks on Tuesday, giving them space to produce almost an additional 4,800 gallons of beer each year.

Bringing in the new tanks also gave them an opportunity to hire new people.

They are currently working on opening up an Oakshire pub and tasting room on Madison Street where they say they'll be hiring at least a dozen people within the next year.

Oakshire's brewmaster Matt Vanwyk said that the tanks will free up some of their smaller tanks, allowing them to make more unique craft beers.

“It means that we're going to reach more people. It means we're not going to be running out of beer here locally and we're going to be able to spread our beer love further,” Vanwyk said.

With their consistent growth, Vanwyk said that Oakshire might have to find a bigger facility or expand on their existing site.
