OSP: Trooper finds over 12 pounds of meth at traffic stop

ASHLAND, Ore. -- Oregon State Police arrested a California man near Ashland Thursday morning, after troopers say they found over 12 pounds of meth in the man's car.
Authorities say an OSP trooper stopped a 2006 Nissan Altima on Interstate 5 northbound at about milepost 11 for speeding.
Troopers contacted the driver, Jesus Paz Flores, 28, of Adelanto, California, and after an investigation, they say they found 12.5 pounds of crystal methamphetamine. Officials say the meth is worth about $190,000.
Flores was arrested without incident and lodged in the Jackson County Jail, charged by troopers with unlawful manufacture, possession and distribution of a controlled substance.
OSP troopers were assisted by OSP Drug Enforcement Section detectives and Rogue Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) team.
Good job OSP. I did that crap for years and it ended up taking more then I care to admit from me and my family and friends. I'm just glad that they got it before it reached the kids. And I know there would have been some kids, some where down the line that would have gotten some of it. Meth and crack are the two most hideous drugs out there. The effects of using that crap last for years after you quit. For instance, I haven't had a good nights sleep in over six years with out the aid of sleeping pills. And I hate taking them because they make me real groggy when I do wake up. There's a lot of unintended consequences that follow a user and even the ex user for years. Parents need to scare the shit out of there kids or do what ever it takes to make sure that there kids never even try that shit not even once. Because all it takes is just one time to get someone hooked on it. Just do what ever it takes to make sure they don't even try it. And one more thing. Its not victimless. Everyone around you will pay one way or another.
@RougeCoyote ---so thankful for your sharing that with us.If only the above could be broadcast to a larger audience of our nation's youth.Â

mexicans from cali delivering to Washington again or still just so common
Well good...there are some junkies out there that aren't gonna get their fix this time...!
domestic terrorism.Â
@drinkmorewater What does that mean? It's just more Mexican cartel drug traffic that is a constant parade up the I5 interstate.
@Mara688, @censoredirawoody: What does that mean? Does it mean that because drug trafficking is common the police and the media should ignore it?
@Mara688  @drinkmorewater It means meth is a scourge.  Might as well take a baseball bat and beat the crap out of families effected by meth.  It brings hell to families.  Home invasions, smash and dashes, domestic abuse, brain rot, body rot, assaults, murders to name a few. Meth runners like this need to be prosecuted like the folks trying to blow stuff up. Yes bringing in loads of meth from Mexico is a form of terrorism.
@541girl ---"12 pounds of meth is enough to ruin hundreds of families and leave scars in the community for years" I typed this to remember it because it is so profound. I have never been able to find the best words to describe the horrors of this drug.Â
@drinkmorewater I couldn't agree more. Meth is like taking poison yourself and poisoning everyone else close to you. I've watched some amazing people lose everything they have all for meth. 12 pounds of meth is enough to ruin hundreds of families and leave scars in the community for years. People like that should sit in prison for a long, long time.
