Pit bull survives botched neutering, in need of a new home

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - An abandoned puppy found badly bleeding at a grocery store from a botched home neutering is on the mend and looking for a new home after a Good Samaritan took him to the veterinarian and got a local dog rescue involved in his recuperation.
Jan Durham works at the Springfield Safeway off of Q Street. She found the pit bull leashed to a shopping cart in front of the store, left with a bag of dog food and a handwritten sign that read, "Anything helps."
“I knew Q Street (Animal Hospital) was here just across the street, so I decided to bring him over and see what they could do for him," said Durham.
Durham, who already owns a dog, was fostering the dog (that she nick-named Buddy) while Eugene's Luv-A-Bull pit bull rescue made room for him in their organization.
Luv-a-Bull held an adoption event for Buddy and other dogs at Suds ‘Em Yourself in downtown Eugene on Sunday.
Luv-a-Bull Pit Bull volunteer Jeremy DeGuc said that Buddy is doing extremely well considering the mutilation he has been through.
“He was almost dead, basically, due to that injury,” said DeGuc outside Suds ‘Em Yourself on Sunday. “And now he’s recovering and we’re trying to find him a home forever.”
DeGuc said Buddy is smart, sweet and good with kids. If you are interested in adopting him or other dogs with Luv-a-Bull Pit Bull you are asked to email Liesl Hardt at lieslhardt@gmail.com or call (541) 345-7511.
Durham paid for the surgery that saved the life of the pit bull she now calls "Buddy".
“He’s really good, you know," said Durham as she cradled Buddy's head with her hands. "He’s a great dog. He’s so sweet. He’s smart. He knows how to sit and lay down.”

And did they track down the perpetrator? I'd be willing to help with his neutering.
wish I could have pets.
I'm sure some bleeding heart will take him.
if being compasinate is a bleeding heart then i would take him in a second if i could have another dog but i already have one plus a cat wich is the limit of what i can have were i live
@Dikweed Hopefully! This dog deserves a better life. I am a bleeding heart when it comes to dogs and cats, and I adopt. It's better, because I do not support the over breeding of dogs, I get to pick a dog with a good temperament, rather than playing a guessing game when they are pups, and a saved dog actually never forget who saved it, and they are more loyal.
@Dikweed HA HA HA. Did you want him to bleed to death?
@Dikweed Wow.....you sound like a great humanitarian. Was your post really necessary? I hope some "bleeding heart" does take him and gives him a great life.Â
