Police dog collars suspected thieves
EUGENE, Ore. - A homeowner surprised two burglars inside a home on Friday morning, sparking a manhunt that ended when a police dog cornered the suspects.
The Neighborhood Watch in the Coburg Road neighborhood helped police set up a perimeter after the report of two burglars fleeing a home on Roan Drive around 10:10 a.m.
The man and woman were captured at the corner of Bendix Avenue and Sunshine Acres Drive with the help of a police dog from Springfield.
Police have not released the identifies of the suspects.

EUGENE, Ore. - A police dog collared two suspect thieves in a Eugene neighborhood Friday morning.
The Eugene Police Department were tracking subjects involved in a residential burglary in the area of Coburg Road and Harlow, starting around 10:10 a.m.
The police had a suspect in custody before the lunch hour.
The subjects were described as a white male 6-feet tall, 200 pounds with a shaved head wearing denim shorts.
The second subject is a white female, 5-foot-8 tall with black hair wearing a green and tan shirt and cut off shorts.
Their identities have not yet been released by police.
I love police dogs!!! They are well worth their pay and we need more of them.
