Boy, 14, accused of hit-and-run in stolen van

GRESHAM, Ore. - A 14-year-old boy faces accusations he stole a van from a tree farm before running away from the wreckage of a motor vehicle accident Tuesday.
The Gresham Police Department took the teen into custody on Wednesday afternoon after getting a tip in the case.
Police have not released the boy's name.

GRESHAM, Ore. – Police are looking for as many as 4 men who fled from a van after a hit-and-run crash near Gresham that sent a man to the hospital in critical condition.
Police said at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday, a silver Ford van was westbound on Hwy 26 east of Gresham when it drifted into the center grass median. The driver over-corrected and steered back into the westbound lanes where the van collided with the driver’s side of a BMW X5. Police said the van continued west across the eastbound lanes where it rolled and came to rest on its wheels.
The driver of the BMW, 52-year-old Dean Pace of Sandy, was seriously injured and taken by LifeFlight to OHSU in Portland. His condition was upgraded Wednesday from critical to serious. Police said Pace was wearing a seat belt.
Witnesses told troopers at the scene that as many as 4 men got out of the van and ran away. Police said none of the occupants have been found.
