Police: Man charged with homicide in fatal crash
ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A 51-year-old woman is dead, and a Roseburg man is in jail charged with homicide after a fatal crash Saturday morning in Roseburg.
Police say that at about 9:30 a.m., they responded to the 3800 block of Diamond Lake Blvd. to the report of a rollover accident.
Witnesses at the scene told police that a Jeep Cherokee heading westbound crossed over the center lane and struck a Dodge Neon head on.
Police say the driver of the Neon was taken to Mercy Medical Center, where she died from her injuries.
The driver of the Jeep was identified as Nathan Howard Stuart, 22, of Roseburg.
After being taken to Mercy and treated, police say a subsequent investigation led to Stuart's arrest on several charges stemming from the accident.
Stuart was taken to the Douglas County Jail and lodged on charges of criminally negligent homicide, second degree manslaughter and driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
His bail is set at $310,000.
The victim's name is not being released yet by police.
I am 51 and went to RHS, I fear that one of my classmates is not with us anymore, because of this horrible outbreak of meth (AKA an evil epidemic of ghoulish rotted teeth, acne lesions, rotted moral faculties of the brain, pychopathetic
behaviour--list is endless). Only thing the Class of '80 had to worry about in the "good ol' days" was grass and a deluge of weekend beer keggers--which did in fact take a few lives that school year.
My sympathy and condolences to the parents, school administrators, police authorities, etc. that must somehow battle this demonic drug being used as a recreational (while often times being enhanced with alc.) among our youth.
Combat speed should not even be used in combat. Teenage Kamikaze pilots drinking their ceremonial sake and injecting themselves with meth (Robert Whiting: Tokyo Underworld) was an act of desperation by a nation at war.
There was no war on DLB; no need to build up courage that morning, just a selfish & senseless youth and an innocent victim, now in my prayers.
Thank God our victim did not have her precious children and/or grandchildren with her, which could have been highly probable on Saturday.

The flow of meth that comes from south of the border, or is manufactured locally is sustained ONLY by the demand of losers like the idiot Mr. Stuart, and the tens of thousands of similar idiots that make the concious decision to use that crap to begin with. I can't imagine what drives someone to voluntarily "try" meth or heroin for the first time, let alone time and again until my face and body bare the scars from the poisons I've ingested. Scab-covered, needle marked, disqusting wastes of oxygen and resources. I hope his remaining days on earth are brief and painfulÂ
Stop the flow of illegal immigrants and you'll be a long way toward stemming the flow of meth from the south. Unfortunately, we live in a state that thinks there is something glorious and uplifting about letting in legions of illegals. They only want to work! Yeah...work at distributing meth.

Hhhhmmm...let me guess. From the looks of his face I'd guess the controlled substance is meth. Although that is really a misnomer because meth is totally out of control in this State. Until the authorities really get serious about the import of meth from Mexico and the home cooked stuff and put some teeth into the laws and penalties it's only going to get worse.Â
