Stolen vehicle linked to sexual assault case located; suspect at large

EUGENE, Ore. - Police in Portland recovered the car stolen from an elderly woman assaulted in her sleep in Eugene by an unknown suspect.
The Portland Police Bureau located the stolen Hyundai Elantra late Thursday night.
The car was unoccupied, and the suspect remains at large.
The attacker took the car from a Coburg Road-area home in Eugene early Tuesday morning after sexually and physically assaulting the 84-year-old resident in her home.
Investigators from the Portland Police Bureau are working with Eugene Police Violent Crimes Detectives to process the vehicle for evidence, police said.
Police ask anyone with information on the case to call Detective Ben Hall at (541) 682-5835.
There is a high chance that this was another failure of the justice system. Odds are this guy was a sex offender who has been turned loose to act again. Good police work can catch this guy. Start with the sex offender registry, and use a process of elimination to see who has skipped out. Match this with trace evidence from the crime scene, and automobile. Hit the streets guys and solve this crime, I know you are short handed, but back in the day we just sucked it up and did what we had to, to protect the public. Personal pride in your job would not let this guy outsmart you.
They may just do that in Portland but in Eugene they will put him in jail and then let him go the next day.
I hope they catch this pos and shoot him when he makes a sudden movement
