Skateboarder arrested on meth charges

WINSTON, Ore. -- A man riding a skateboard in traffic Tuesday evening ended up being arrested on alleged meth charges.

According to the Winston Police Department, 22-year-old Travis Joel Scheler was stopped for disorderly conduct Tuesday night, for repeatedly riding his skateboard into traffic on Main and Edwards streets.

Police say a search turned up 1.5 grams of meth, as well as scales and packaging materials in his backpack.

Scheler was charged with unlawful possession and delivery of meth.

He's currently being held at the Douglas County Jail on more than $150,000.
