Airline adds non-stop flights between Eugene and Palm Springs

EUGENE, Ore. - Non-stop flights from Eugene to Palm Springs start Nov. 15, Allegiant Air announced Tuesday.

"We are pleased to add Palm Springs as another affordable, convenient destination option for Eugene residents," said Andrew C. Levy, Allegiant Travel Company President.

Since starting service out of Eugene, the airline has added service to Hawaii, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay area and Phoenix/Mesa.

The company offers low-cost airfare and provides customers with the opportunity to bundle lodging, car rental and other vacation amenities in one booking.

"We're excited to have this new service to Palm Springs and we know it will be a very popular nonstop destination for our passengers," said Eugene Airport Director Tim Doll, A.A.E. "Allegiant Air continues to build their commercial air service in Eugene and has been a great partner to the Eugene Airport."

The new flights will operate twice weekly between Eugene Airport and Palm Springs International Airport.

As a promotion for the new flights Allegiant Air placed special golf balls around Eugene Tuesday morning. A spokesperson of the Eugene Airport said that one special golf ball at one of the locations can be redeemed for two round trip tickets on the inaugural Palm Springs voyage.

Flight days and times can be found at allegiant.com.

The company plans to offer a limited number of $89.99 one-way fares for travel completed by Jan. 13, 2013. Tickets must be purchased by Aug. 28, 2012.
