Coca-Cola closing Eugene distribution center
EUGENE, Ore. - Distribution operations at the Coca-Cola facility on Chad Drive will stop March 1, sending two dozen jobs out of the area.
Anna Arodzero with Coca-Cola said the company plans to consolidate the Eugene and Wilsonville distribution centers in Wilsonville.
She said the decision comes after the Eugene facility outgrew the building.
The company elected to centralize operations in Wilsonville rather than find a larger facility in Eugene.
Currently, 69 people work at the Chad Drive location. Of those, 24 work in distribution. The company plans to move 21 of those jobs to Wilsonville; so far, 5 people have elected to transfer, Arodzero told KVAL News.
The other 45 people work in sales, merchandising and service. Those employees will continue to work out of the Chad Drive building until this summer. Coke plans to move them into a new office space and sell the Chad Drive building.
Good riddance. Â All that corn syrup will give you cancer. Â We could solve a lot of American health issues if bad ingredients were outlawed...
Tell me again how this recovery is supposed to be going?
Pepsi left a few years ago, now Coke...Â
