Unemployed since 2010: 'I think my answer is just to endure'

EUGENE, Ore. - Each morning begins like every morning at the Glover house:
Ron Glover hits the computer, looking for work.
One year later, he's still looking for that job.
"I never thought it would go this long. It's been a little over 2 years for me," Glover said.
For every 10 people looking for a job in Oregon, four of them have been looking at least 6 months. They are the long-term unemployed.
For Glover, that search seems to have no end.
He was suddenly downsized in mid-2010 and out of a job as manager of Gateway Mall.
This year alone, he said he's applied for 50 positions in all manners of management: sales, construction, the financial sector and local government.
Glover said he's had four finalist interviews in the last few months but has come up short because other applicants "either had direct experience, or they felt made a better fit for various reasons."
Glover doesn't believe he is on too narrow a job search and is still on the right track.
For now, he's getting by with part-time consulting work.
"It feels like it's starting to turn, but it's sure been a challenging situation," he said.
"I'm regrouping," Glover said. "I think the, I think my answer is just to endure.
"I just don't know what else I can do."

If you were really creative, you'd realize you could be a self employed Consultant, not a 'job' seeker. There are many freelance websites out there. You can post a profile and be available to people all over the country. Create a website on your own, through Vista Print or another service. Be your own boss. That's what I did and have been doing this for 10 years. I am older than you are and live in the area. Do a Google search for 'Freelance websites' and pick the top 2 or 3. The fees are very reasonable. Join Linked In. Stop feeling sorry for yourself!

I think your aim is a bit high...YOU need to aim for a lower position and work your way up...now that you have not had a job in almost 3 years, you are new again...welcome to reality.
