EUGENE, Ore. - Lori rolls her eyes at the thought of some of the come-ons she has heard.
"Someone will be like, 'Oh let me be your sugar daddy.' I'm like, 'That just sounds so wrong, and please don't call me a sugar baby," the Portland student said.
But those are the labels used on the dating website SeekingArrangement.com, where Lori posted her profile.
"It's nothing I'm embarrassed about," Lori said of her profile.
The photos can be suggestive, however.
"I'm not going to put something where I'm wearing sweats and and a hoodie," Lori said. "I would never put nude photos online."
SeekingArrangement.com proposes a bargain between men and women: cash for companionship.
Lori is one of a growing number of college students seeking a sugar daddy with a healthy appetitte for spending.
According to Angela Jacob with SeekingArrangement.com, the websites's number of "sugarbaby" members from the University of Oregon doubled in the last year.
"UO made it on the list because you know it had a large increase from the previous year in terms of students signing up to be sugar babies," Jacob said.
Students who talked to KVAL News hadn't heard of the program.
"Since I haven't heard of it, I don't think it would be that big of a thing," student David Jones said. "But at the same time, you know, people will do just about anything to get through school without any loans."
"I don't know, that's funny," said Emily Onustock.
"I mean, shouldn't that be illegal?" Nicole Winer said.
Jacob said the arrangements are not above the law.
"We don't allow them to include sexual acts or sexual intimacy within their agreement," she said.
Sex may not be allowed in the deal, but Lori said it's still on the table.
"There are definitely some creepy people on the site, I'm not going to lie," she said.
But most of the men she has met legitimately want to help college students, she said.
"Student loans are ridiculous! It's just, um, yeah, it's definitely a new way to, uh, to get through school, for sure."
And finishing college is Lori's top priority.
"Ultimately my goal is to be a teacher," she said, "and I really hope that someone doesn't look down upon me."
"'Shouldn't that be illegal?" Isn't that the motto of the commies ocupying Washington in regards to the police state they strive to build around us.
If a woman wants to sell it and a guy wants to buy it, it`s going to happen. It always has. There is nothing anyone can do about it. It`s not for me. There is no way that I could have anything in common with a teen or twenty-something girl in a living arrangement., especially at my expense. That`s no honor, it`s a burdon. No thanx! If some other old fart  wants to do that, Who am I to judge. My only complaint about this article is that this lady is trying to convince the public that these guys just want to throw their money at them out of the goodness of their hearts. I got nothing against loose ladys, but I hate people who try to blow smoke up the publics behind to make their cause appear innocent when it`s not
I don't think anyone had addressed the real issue here. The cost of college has gotten so high that young people are trying desperately to find ways to obtain a college degree which has been pushed on them since they were old enough to learn anything. The Progressives have made education so terribly expensive that it is the new slavery movement, and yet they claim to be against slavery. We shall see.
It isn't my business to place my morals upon these people. No one is getting hurt. I think it is wrong, and gross ... but that is how I feel. I don't see why my ethics need to be law, Nor anyone else's.
Sounds like another stalkers paradise to me
I wanna be a teacher she says ..well my dear hooker you shoulden't put that on your resume plus just get a legal job it will pay off when you TRY to get a teaching job.
This is great. Let two people who need each other connect. But watch the prudes and the judgmental types come out from the woodwork....
We have a culture without virtue.  In fact, virtuous behavior is seen as stupid, no fun, and not profitable.  Current legislation to help conceal this type of behavior  forbids future employers from reviewing face book and similar media and so conceals character faults which influence employee reliability.  As a culture, we need to grow up.
@Reis KashBig Gobrment? Live and let live.
BTW your virtue is my garbage and vice versa.
It's slutty, I would be ashamed to put my face out in public like that.Â

Prostitution should be legal. Which is exactly what this is.
