SWEET HOME - A new board game is sweeping the world, but it's roots are in Sweet Home.

It's called the Game of Redneck Life, co-creator Lisa Steenson now lives in Washington, but she hasn't forgotten her Sweet Home roots.

On a slow rainy day at the old Santiam Feed and Garden store, there's a new way to pass the time. It's called the Game of Redneck Life, created by Sweet Home gal, Lisa Steenson, whose inspiration was close to home.

"This was the house I grew up in during the winters. I stayed here, this was my step-dads house," shows Steenson. And step-dad Don added a bit of his own colorful language to the game. "The redneck language is there, the original language is mine, and we cooled it down for the game," says Don White.

Under Don's watchful eye, Steenson showed me the ropes. Rolling the dice I land an education and career. "You topped out at 11th grade, and you're a mullet saloon operator making $380 a payday," says Steenson.

But with money there's also debt, so I carefully pick out a car, and a house. My house is called the palace, it's a pink paradise that's actually a real place. In fact, all of the snap shots are from Sweet Home and beyond.

"It's a monster Corvette, that's good looking stuff right there," shows Steenson.

Throughout the game you loose teeth through accidents and brawls so how do you when at the game? The player with the most pearly whites comes out on top.

"Play pin the tail on the donkey, get kicked loose a tooth," says Steenson.

But it's more than just a game. Steenson adds: "it's a choice. It's how you spend your time and money, it's not as if you are forced into it. Unless you are raised in the house of such a culture but it's more of how you choose to spend your time & money."

And she says, it's definitely a learning experience. "You learn somethings it does shave off a couple IQ points when you play but it's worth it. It definitely all is in good fun" she says.

More than 15,000 copies of the game have been sold across the world.
