BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — One man called Eyewitness News to convey his dismay over a billboard in east Bakersfield promoting McDonald's in Spanish.

The Census shows that 45 percent of Bakersfield's 347,000 people are of Hispanic origin, and 37 percent of the city's residents speak a language other than English at home, though that can be any other language.

Still, the viewer said he wants all advertisements in the United States to be in English.
