It is too late to mail your ballot: You must drop your ballot of in a ballot drop box | Map of drop box locations
Postmarks do not qualify your ballot.
There are several common errors voters make when they return their ballots which could prevent their ballot from being counted, so be careful to follow the directions and avoid these pitfalls:
- Forgetting to sign their return identification envelope;
- Not signing their own return identification ballot envelope with their name on the label;
- Not signing their return identification ballot envelope in the same manner as their most current voter registration card;
- Not sealing the return identification envelope;
- If there are any questions or concerns, it is extremely important to promptly call Lane County Elections for assistance prior to returning the voted ballot to ensure the right steps are taken for a given problem. It may be too late to resolve once a ballot is returned.
If you have not received a ballot for the current election but believe you were previously registered anywhere within Oregon, you likely have time to update your registration to your current address and still qualify for a full ballot. If any questions about your voter registration status, call Lane County Elections at 541-682-4234.
Lane County Elections is located at 275 W. 10th Avenue, on the corner of 10th and Lincoln in downtown Eugene. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. On Election Day, November 2, 2010 the office will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Voters should anticipate longer lines at the elections office the Monday before and through Election Day, so are urged to resolve any voter registration or ballot voting matters as early as possible.
