No. 5 Best: The Rope Swing
AL ASAD, Iraq-- Spc. Mike Buchan, 26, of Salem, Ore., and Spc. Grant Mc Robert, 22, of Salem, Ore., got their hands on a 20,000 lb nylon rope, which Buchan says you could probably hang your car off, and built a swing in a hangar near their compound.

The swing comes complete with a wooden seat and a nylon harness.
“On our days off there’s not a whole lot to do on this base, we kind of go looking for stuff to do,” says Buchan before leaping off the 35 foot high ledge.
Most of the company, other soldiers on base, contractors and even visiting WWE stars have taken a chance on the contraption.
“The swing has been a huge success,” says Buchan. “And our safety sling has insured that it hasn’t got shut down.”
