Letter to court from victim's lawyer

Letter from Heidi Siebenlist’s lawyer on the LaMichael James case:

To whom it may concern:

My client, the victim in this matter, is satisfied with the plea agreement entered today.  The District Attorney kept her interests in mind and consulted her throughout the negotiation process.

My client did not want to ruin Mr. James’ life, but did want him to be held accountable for what he had done, to get the help that he needs so that this does not happen again to someone else and to be protected in the future.  The plea agreement incorporates these interests.

In Mr. James’ apology letter, he acknowledges that there was a significant and serious relationship with my client, takes full accountability for the incident that led to these charges and asks that the victim be held blameless.

Hopefully, these statements answer any questions that there may have been regarding the incident and the relationship between the parties.  Please respect my client’s privacy and the privacy of her family and let them move on with their lives.

If there are further questions, please contact me using the information above or at 541-646-0580.

Sincerely,
Jodee L. Scott
Attorney at Law
