SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - Most people take it easy on their birthday, but one University of Oregon Student had other plans.
Matt Remer decided to make his 29th birthday one to remember by taking the Giant Burger Challenge.
The challenge requires participants to scarf down 10 pounds worth of burger and fries in one hour.
Remer started strong, but only managed to finish half the massive meal.
Nine people, including Remer, have attempted the challenge at the Springfield restaurant, but so far no one has been able to finish since the challenge began in December 2009. Remer's 5 pound total puts him in third place behind a the last challenger who at 6 pounds and the current record holder who managed to eat 8 pounds.
