Thousands sign US petition to deport Piers Morgan

LONDON (AP) - Tens of thousands of people have signed a petition calling for British CNN host Piers Morgan to be deported from the U.S. over his gun control views.
Morgan has taken an aggressive stand for tighter U.S. gun laws in the wake of the Newtown, Connecticut, school shooting. Last week, he called a gun advocate appearing on his "Piers Morgan Tonight" show an "unbelievably stupid man."
Now, gun rights activists are fighting back. A petition created Dec. 21 on the White House e-petition website by a user in Texas accuses Morgan of engaging in a "hostile attack against the U.S. Constitution" by targeting the Second Amendment. It demands he be deported immediately for "exploiting his position as a national network television host to stage attacks against the rights of American citizens."
The petition has already hit the 25,000 signature threshold to get a White House response. By Monday, it had 31,813 signatures.
Morgan seemed unfazed - and even amused - by the movement.
In a series of Twitter messages, he alternately urged his followers to sign the petition and in response to one article about the petition said "bring it on" as he appeared to track the petition's progress.
"If I do get deported from America for wanting fewer gun murders, are there any other countries that will have me?" he wrote.

30,000 signatures out of over 350 million Americans is nothing. You can find more signatures on the White House Petition website petition to build a death star. It's amazing how the right wing will constantly defend the second amendment, but they will stop at nothing to destory the first if it doesn't align with their beliefs. Â
@RelaxThereIsNoGod This is so funny it hurts. Quite frankly, it's about time the moderates and right started fighting back against the constant attack on the first amendment by the left wing-nut radicals that want to monitor and legislate everything we say and think. You might want to go back and rethink your post, perhaps even delete it after I have shown the pure idiocy of your position here.
Â
Go ahead - it's ok; we'll wait.
@OregonOrator It's going to be a long wait.
Whether it is Piers Morgan on the 'left' or Rush Limbaugh on the 'right', we're just talking showmanship and ratings.   If he can make more money being rude, he will. Besides, under the US Constitution (remember that one?) we don't deport or jail people who we don't agree with...otherwise, the ACLU would be headquartered in the Bahamas. And the armed neo-Nazi white supremacists in Idaho would be living next door.
Piers Morgan is a nitwit who gets far too much media attention. But to paraphrase the old cliche', I'll defend his right to the death (almost) to say anything he wants on the venue that has been afforded him whether I agree with him or not.
Send the loud mouth packing and get a few more out with him ...just drop'em off half way back in the ocean...in a raft
i'm not that cold=))
@IAMHIGH It's called Freedom of Speech, deal with it.
@RelaxThereIsNoGod HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA..=)what do you think my comment was

@RelaxThereIsNoGod Well at least we have something in common=)
My 10 year old is more grown up than you.
That is so stupid, a petition to deport a highly respected anchorman because he has spoken his views? Jus this morning four firemen doing their heroic duty were shot and two of them died, the Connecticut victims were buried today, and people want to kick this man out for speaking for more gun control? Yes! why are they selling automatic weapons to shoot 26 people in a matter of seconds? How people get to buy this murderous weapons? This rifles are for the battleground, not playgrounds and churches and malls! I sign for Piers NOT to go, he wouldn't be unemployed anyway for long.
I'll have to take your opinion with a grain of salt.
VERY few people would regard Morgan as a "highly respected anchorman"
Funny stuff :)
There were no automatic weapons used in the school shooting. You are misinformed. Also, on that note, SEMI-automatic weapons are not a big part of the modern battlefield.
Â
Drop the misinformed bumper-sticker jingoism, do a little research and then come back and have a discussion. We'll find you much more interesting.
@lotusjani "This rifles are for the battleground, not playgrounds and churches and malls!"
Â
And the second ammendment is "for the battleground", not hunting nor sporting. When one goes against the security of a Free state, which includes the security to its young ones, such as this 20 year old did. You are obligated to arm yourself & resist his tyranny.
Â
You are in favor of what he wanted, as you wish to disarm any potential threat to the likes of him & your own desired environment, which always leaves the weak incapable of fighting back against their agressor.Â
@lotusjani wake up and smell the napalm.....
Â
Get rid of that scumbag... I dont watch tv (because it is all BS propoganda) ,but I am sure he is just doing his part in pushing the establishment's goal of totall slavery in the police state...
"Crystal meth produces paranoia, delusions and hallucinations similar to the symptoms of schizophrenia." Yep, sounds about right.
