Tests show water in Cottage Grove now OK to drink
Press release courtesy City of Cottage Grove
The notice to boil drinking water in the Northeast portion of the City of Cottage Grove that was issued on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 has been lifted. Test results from the water samples taken on Tuesday evening have been analyzed and no harmful bacteria or contaminants were found.
Boiling drinking water is no longer necessary.
City staff are working with the Row River Valley Water District to prevent future issues. Additionally, the Water District and County are working on ways to expedite the process to get the needed improvements at the Layng Creek water treatment facility underway that would eliminate any future similar occurrences.
Thank you for your assistance. City Staff appreciates the public's patience as we worked to make sure the water was safe to drink.
