Cuddler for hire: 'This is not about sex'
NEW YORK - If you need a hug, one New York woman is for hire.
"I always liked to cuddle," said Jackie Samuel. "It seemed pretty simple to me."
She started her business a month ago, charging $60 per hour to snuggle.
The 29-year-old said her clients are looking for relaxation and physical comfort.
"This is not about sex," she said. "I'm really straightforward about that."
She started her business without a license. There isn't one for cuddling.
"I thought I need to kind of validate my position. I need some kind of certification or license to show I'm a qualified cuddler, but I couldn't find anybody else who was doing what I was doing so I decided to just start," she said.
But cuddling isn't that difficult.
"I would hope it's something everybody knows how to do. I just think we kind of lose the interest or the drive in our society," she said. "It's cuddling. Either you want it or you don't."
