Heart Recipient

Candy Hatton was 42 years old when she suffered a heart attack in 2006 and was in such serious condition that doctors told her family to plan a funeral. Hatton lived, however. She weathered other life-threatening heart problems over the next several years and survived to get a new heart from a stranger who died in March. (AP Photo/The News-Review, Michael Sullivan)
