Oregon couple on motorcycle dies in Utah crash
DUCHESNE, Utah (AP) — The Utah Highway Patrol says an Oregon couple on a motorcycle was killed in a collision with a pickup.
Authorities identified the couple as Robert and Melinda Barney, both 56, of Medford, Ore.
Authorities say Robert Barney was driving the Harley-Davidson motorcycle and braked to avoid a Toyota Tundra that was making a turn.
But he couldn't stop fast enough Tuesday about 90 miles east of Salt Lake City.
Both riders, wearing helmets, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Toyota's driver, 71-year-old Ralph Keele of West Jordan, was uninjured.
