LTD: Study favors W. 11th route for EmX

EMX bus

EUGENE, Ore. - Lane Transit District officials say the proposed W. 11th Avenue route is the top choice for the new Emerald Express (EmX) bus line in West Eugene.
The results of an analysis show the West 11th route best meets the eight criteria in a study of three options, officials say.
Many businesses on West 11th are opposed to EmX coming down their street.
The study looked at things like travel time, cost, sustainablity, environmental impact and employment.
However, this isn't a done deal.
The LTD board, City of Eugene and Metro Policy Committee all must approve the route.
A vote is expected to come before February in time to apply for federal grants to fund the project.
Project Manager John Evans says West 11th route meets the criteria best. But he says "there is a heck of a lot of process still to get through."
Open houses are planned to provide opportunities for a conversation about LTD’s West Eugene EmX Alternatives Analysis Report:
